Kristingail Robinson is a native Houstonian originally from the Greater Inwood. She is a GE Leadership Fellow and proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. and the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals. Kris received her bachelors within 3 years from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2011. She also received her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in May 2013 and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Houston in Mary 2021.

Kris is a fervent believer that we all have a leading role to play in improving the lives of others, especially in delivering social justice and opportunities to historically underserved communities. She sits on the Board of Directors for Empowerment CDC (formerly known as Education Based Housing) and is also the co-founder of Meeting of the Minds, a young professionals networking alliance.

Almost 15 years ago, Kris got her start in the housing and construction industry with a non-profit called MACSC & Housing, which housed minority, young mothers and developed new single-family homes in historically underserved areas like Sunnyside and South Union. While in law school, she worked with the Earl Carl Institute through the Innocence Project and was the sole student editor of the State of Black Houston Now (SOBHN) Public Policy Journal. She also served an editor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review and as the Moot Court Team Captain. After law school, Kris began working with the City of Houston in 2016 and is now a Senior Planner in the Housing and Community Development Department (HCD), developing strategic plans to that bring resources to the Department. Her ultimate goal is to provide opportunities that improve quality of life and ensure safe and healthy living for African Americans and other minorities.
